Piloting of a hot air balloon takes a certain amount of skill but the controls of the balloon are quite simple. The skill comes in, when checking the weather conditions and finding the correct layers of air. Some pilots are skilled enough to travel in one direction, then find another layer of air and travel in a completely different direction.
